Sanjay Srivastava (academician)
Sanjay Srivastava is a professor of political science at the Banaras Hindu University. Since April 2023, he is serving as the vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University.[1]

Biography
[edit]Sanjay Srivastava has been a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the American University.[2][3]. He holds a PhD from Kumaun University.
In 2006, he joined Banaras Hindu University as associate professor, and was elevated to professor rank in 2009.[3]
He is also a member in the Executive Council and Finance Committee of Jamia Millia Islamia.[4]
In April 2023, he was appointed as the vice-chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University.[5]
Awards
[edit]1. Loknayak Jai Prakash Award 2023
Sanjay Srivastava, has been honored with the Loknayak Jai Prakash Award 2023 for his outstanding contributions to the education sector. The award was presented by the 14th President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, in a ceremony held at Delhi on 21st December 2023.[citation needed]
2. Shiksha Shri Samman
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Srivastava, has been honored with the prestigious Shiksha Shri Samman by the Dr. Shambhu Sharan & Shanti Sharan Memorial Trust in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of higher education[citation needed]
3. Gaur Mani Award
On the occasion of the 154th birth anniversary of Dr. Sir Harisingh Gaur, founder of Dr. Harisingh Gaur University, educationist and jurist, member of the Constituent Assembly and philanthropist, Srivastava was awarded the “Gaur Mani” award on 26th of November 2023.[6][7]
